FACILITIES

The Casino Maltese offers a range of facilities to its members, catering for different moods and occasions, including the Club Restaurant, the Courtyard Bar, the Reading Room, the Foyer and the Billiard Room. Private events can be hosted in the Princess’ Room, the Ballroom and the Presidents' Room.

Over recent years, the Club has been restored and refurbished, striving to add contemporary comforts and convenience while respecting its historic ambience and heritage.

THE PRINCESS' ROOM

The Princess' Room derives its name from a visit by Princess, later Queen, Elizabeth II in 1949, when she was living in Malta. This attractive room has balconies overlooking both St George's Square and Republic Square. Its Wedgewood blue décor and bright corner surroundings overlooking the heart of Valletta combine to make this one of the Club’s finest and most popular rooms, often used to host private events.

THE OLD DINING ROOM

Today this large and spacious room, with its beautiful parquet floor, high ceilings, and an enticing view overlooking St George's Square, can be used as a quiet workspace or to hold meetings while still able to order coffee and refreshments from the restaurant. For some members it acts as an ‘office away from the office’. The Old Dining Room can also be used to host larger private events.

THE COURTYARD BAR

The Courtyard Bar is the first port of call for most members. Open and relaxed, here members can enjoy a coffee or fine tea, or a bite to eat, as they appreciate a peaceful break away from the bustle of Valletta in the streets outside. Its main seating area is situated in a leafy enclosed courtyard surrounded by high arched doors. Leading off the central space, the tastefully refurbished bar area offers a selection of spirits and fine wines. The Courtyard Bar opens at 8 am for breakfast, and serves a delicious selection of light meals including salads and sandwiches throughout the day. The Courtyard Bar closes at 5 pm on weekdays, other than on Fridays when it closes at 9 pm.

THE PRESIDENTS' ROOM

The President’s Room is a prestigious, large room on the first floor, just off the grand staircase and upper hall of the Club. In keeping with its name, its high walls feature a series of portraits of former presidents of the Club. Its comfortable seating areas are used by members to relax in quiet surroundings, while enjoying tea and cake, or a light snack. Newspapers, magazines and wifi are provided, making this a pleasant place to unwind and catch up with friends or colleagues, or perhaps play a game or two of chess or cards.

THE BILLIARD ROOM

The Club boasts a fine billard room which is available to members. Competitions are held throughout the year. It has a fine antique playing table kept in perfect playing condition.
The room can be booked for a game with friends, and members can also sign up for the competitions. An ideal place to catch up with friends or make new ones.

THE FOYER

The entrance to the Club offers comfortable seating for members,  located at the foot of the Club’s grand staircase.

THE BALLROOM

Our Ballroom has hosted many a grand occasion. Once known for the carnival balls held there, it has seen many enjoyable and memorable events throughout the Club's history. With its parquet floor, a beautiful ceiling and surrounding balcony overlooking the square, and lit by beautiful Murano chandeliers, this is an outstanding venue for different types of events, soirées, dinners, concerts, wedding parties, lectures, and corporate events.

THE 1921 DINING ROOM

This is the members’ dining room where lunch is served daily. It offers a full menu and an extensive wine list, all at Club prices and with silver service. It also has a members’ table, where members can just show up and join other members at the table for a convivial conversation. The dining room is fully airconditioned.

THE CROWN PRINCES' ROOM

This room is often used as a private board room for up to 25 people in sumptuous surroundings, or as a dining room. It can also be used for lectures or talks for small groups. The room is fully air-conditioned.

THE READING ROOM

This is a strictly members-only room on the ground floor, where members can retire for a quiet read or conversation.
